The Téa Hodzic Trio
Téa Hodzic's startling and evocative voice has enchanted audiences from Womad to the South Bank to Sarajevo. In this trio Téa explores the songs of her homeland, the former Yugoslavia, and its bordering countries. With virtuoso musicians Oliver Wilson-Dickson on violin and Luke Carver Goss on accordion, a few instrumental fireworks are inevitable!

The Téa Hodzic Trio's debut release Stay Awhile has been recorded on the Taith label at Stewdio Felin Fach and is now available to buy through the Taith Records shop.

About Téa:
Téa Hodzic was born in Sarajevo , Bosnia where she trained in classical guitar and opera. At the age of 11 she won the first prize in the National Competition for Classical Guitar in Zagreb. She's been in a popular singing partnership with her sister Mirella since the age of 10. Téa made regular appearances on National TV and Radio and was involved with numerous projects with the National Theatre in Sarajevo, making and performing music for theatre plays. In 1987 she appeared as one of the critical highlights at the prestigious Yu-Fest, the international performing arts festival in Former Yugoslavia. With her sister Mirella, she's been collaborating with leading rock and folk musicians such as Goran Bregovic. As a result of their contribution to musical culture Téa and her sister Mirella were invited to sing for President Tito at specially convened reception at his private villa.

Since living in the UK Téa has appeared on both television and radio and with Mirella sang on the soundtrack for Channel 4's award winning series, "Bloody Bosnia". She also performed at international event "Acting for Sarajevo" at St James' Church Piccadilly, alongside artists such as Vanessa Redgrave, Juliet Stevenson, Sir Ian McKellen, David Threlfall and others. Téa has been involved in creating and performing music for "When Lightening Breaks" at London's Southwark Playhouse. She also did series of compositional and performance workshops such as critically acclaimed Bath Mozartfest's Community Opera "The Mozart Bug", and most recently workshop for BBC3 "World on Your Street" with Eliza Carthy.

In 1995 Téa and Mirella joined Szapora, then known as The Budapest Cafe Orchestra. In 2000 they performed at the Gala Concert marking the 50th anniversary of United Nation High Commission for Refugees in Geneva, alongside artists such as Youssou N'Dour, Arja Sainonmaa and Geoffrey Oryema. In 2002 Téa performed at the WOMAD festival in Reading with Vanja Krawczyk and Dylan Fowler and scooped excellent critics in The Times by Clive Davis, "...Her voice haunted me for the rest of the day...." In October 2002 she appeared as a guest with Dylan at 'The Late Junction," hosted by Fiona Talkington. The program has won Gold Sony Award for 2003. In March 2003 Téa and Mirella performed at the international "Stop The War" concert, held in St.Pauls Church in London, alongside artists such as Martin Carthy.
