A great summer of gigs

The Devils Violin have an exciting summer coming. First up is Hay Festival
http://www.hayfestival.com/

Hay is an extraordinary event. We're privileged to be a part of it. It is hard to think of another festival so packed with ideas and inspiration. Scientists, historians, politicians, comedians, activists, musicians, film- makers...and storytellers. Hay has been a strong advocate for the artform. Ben Haggarty is also in the lineup, telling stories that inspired his wonderful graphic novel MeZolith.

Then, Daniel, Oliver and Dylan Fowler (of Taith records fame) will be performing their magical reworking of Sleeping Beauty at Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival www.beyondtheborder.com. BtB has the most stunning setting of any festival I can think of. St Donats Castle, walled gardens, a jousting field, a theatre, marquees, all next to the Channel. Hugh Lupton is also there, telling the story of Hugh's Great uncle Arthur Ransome...

Then there's Festival at the Edge http://www.festivalattheedge.org/. The Devils violin gave its first ever public performance there, and got a standing ovation. So we're looking forward to returning with our new show on the Friday night. Daniel and Sarah will also be performing Greek myths on the Saturday....
