Dylan Fowler & Oliver Wilson-Dickson

Dylan and Oliver are currently in Stiwdio Felin Fach recording a new CD of traditional Welsh tunes. They combine a breadth of music experience with a respect for these beautiful rare gems. Some samples will be available soon.

From the elegant to the virtuoso, Dylan and Oliver play with an empathy that comes from many years of working together. They played together in the acclaimed Balkan group Szapora, with The Ian McMillan Orchestra and co-wrote the music for the storytelling and music show Sleeping Beauty and Alcestis.

In their live performances they take their audiences on a musical journey - a tune brought back from a tour in Bulgaria or a collaboration in India - but at the heart of their set is a love affair with the old tunes of Wales.

'Demon Welsh fiddler' Taplas

REVIEW:

Oli Wilson Dickson and Dylan Fowler, Corn Exchange - May 24
Reviewed by Mark Beaumont
Now this was something special. Perhaps there's nothing better than the sound of the fiddle for encapsulating such beauty and stirring emotions of sorrow and joy. The accomplished hands of fiddler Oli, accompanied by the more than able Dylan on guitar, transported listeners from the valleys of Wales to the mystical sounds of Bulgarian folk songs. With almost still laments to frantic foot stamping strumming - it was a varied and marvellous mystery tour. If I'm honest, I hadn't been expecting to enjoy this lunchtime performance anywhere near this much. A hidden gem in the Festival crown
