Daniel Morden and Oliver Wilson-Dickson
have been performing together for over 10 years. As a duo they have toured across the UK, performed at the National Theatre and appeared at over 100 schools. In 2003 they collaborated with the guitarist Dylan Fowler to tour welsh venues as The Rough Guide to Wales. Their recent collaboration The Devil's Violin, with Sarah Moody and Eddy Jay, has appeared at venues from the Barbican in London to the Sage in Gateshead.
Daniel Morden
Daniel has been telling traditional stories for a living since 1989 and his craft has taken him around the world, from the Arctic to the Pacific to the Caribbean. He regularly collaborates with the Education Departments of The Barbican Centre and The National Theatre. He is one of the UK's most popular tellers of traditional stories, with a repertoire that ranges from The Iliad and The Odyssey performed with Hugh Lupton (www.hughlupton.com) to his work for families fusing music and story with Oliver Wilson-Dickson. He has conceived and presented numerous documentaries on storytelling for BBC Radio Wales. His first book, ‘Weird Tales from the Storyteller' was nominated for the Tir Na Nog Children's Book Prize. Oliver graduated from York University in 1999. He tours internationally with the bands Szapora, Newfolks, The Tea Hodzic Trio and Mabon. In concert he has supported Bryn Tyrfyl, Jules Holland, Jamie Cullem and others. He has worked with the RSC, The Sherman Theatre and Theatre Iolo. He has recorded for BBC television and radio, S4C, HTV and film. He collaborates regularly with the storyteller Daniel Morden and has appeared at The Royal Ablert Hall, Buckingham Palace, The Wales Millenium Centre, The Purcell Room, The Barbican, St Davids Hall and other major venues.
